Swimming ACT Presentation Saturday 12 May

Saturday the 12 May 2012 saw many parents and kids from the Queanbeyan Leagues Swim Club attend the Swimming ACT Presentation Dinner.  The theme for the night was Masquerade and everyone got into the spirit.  It was wonderful to see so many of the QLSC members receive awards for finishing in the Top 10 for the Winter 2011 and Summer 2011/2012 series along with awards given for highest point score.  A special mention goes to Anita Manning who received the trophy for 9 years Women’s Age Champion.
 
Thanks to everyone who came along and not only supported our wonderful club but supported the sport of Swimming.

2012 Winter Sprint Series – State Top 10 Winners

2012 NSW Winter Sprint Series ACT Heats

Congratulations to all the swimmers who swam at this meet. The following swimmers swam 100% PB’s: Andrew Catchpole, Connor McGuirk  and Emily Siciliano.

The following swimmers swam country qualification times:

Georgia Manning – 50m Breast

Anita Manning – 50m Breast

Andrew Catchpole – 50m Breast

Claire Molineux – 50m Breast, 50m Back

2012 NSW Winter Sprint Series

The following swimmers placed in the top 10 in NSW for the winter sprint series:

Andrew Catchpole – 1st 12yrs Boys 50m Breaststroke

Connor McGuirk -  4th 12yrs Boys 50m Breaststroke

Claire Molineux: –  7th 11yrs Girls 50m Backstroke

Georgia Manning – 9th 10yrs Girls 50m Freestyle

Anita Manning – 3rd  9yrs Girls 50m Breaststroke

Reminder: Arrival time for Swim Meets

Just a reminder that swimmers are requested to be at the pool 30 minutes before scheduled warm up.  Please view the Competitions Page - What to expect at the meet for more information.

New Committee elected for 2012/2013

Following the AGM on Monday 14 May 2012 a new committee for the QLSC has been elected and may be viewed on our Contact Us page.

Combined Fundraising BBQ Saturday 19 May 2012

On Saturday 19th May between 8am and  4pm we are co hosting a fundraising BBQ at Woolworths QBN with a team of rowers from the Canberra rowing club who are heading to Torino in Italy.  QLSC will receive half the profits from this event.

A list has been placed near our notice board so please put your name down in a time that suits you.
